Underwater solar power plant

Chinese scientists have created and successfully tested the world's first underwater solar power plant. The device operates at a depth of 10 meters and can charge batteries and power LED panels underwater.

The technology was developed by scientists from Yunnan University. At a depth of 10 meters, they used a photovoltaic system with a perovskite structure based on lead halides, which provides the conversion of solar energy underwater. According to them, the experiment confirmed that solar energy can be obtained underwater, including in the "blue-green twilight of the ocean".

Until now, similar devices have only been tested at a depth of about 2 meters, which was limited for use in real conditions.

The new system was tested at a depth of 10 meters.

According to the creators of the innovative device, the technology can be used to power underwater sensors, detectors, cameras, communication systems, robots, and other devices.
